COMPLETE A FAFSA
Follow the steps below to apply for financial aid at Northeastern State University.
- Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1 as possible. You will need your most recent federal income tax return to complete the FAFSA. Don't forget to list NSU as one of the schools to receive your financial aid results. NSU's federal school code is 003161.
- Step 2: File your FAFSA on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Filing on the web ensures a faster response from our office.
- Step 3: After filing your FAFSA, you will receive either an email with a secure link to view your Student Aid Report (SAR) or, by mail, a paper copy of your SAR. Student Financial Services also receives your SAR and will request further information to complete your financial aid award.
- Step 4: Please respond promptly to any requests you receive from our office. Failure to respond to our requests for additional information will delay your financial aid award.
- Step 5: Financial Aid Award Notification! When our office has thoroughly reviewed your financial aid application, we will notify you of your financial aid awards by mail.
